George Lindsey

George Lindsey was an actor who graced the silver screen many times throughout his Hollywood career. Early on, Lindsey mostly landed roles in various films, including the Dean Jones comedy "Snowball Express" (1972) and the comedic fantasy "Charley and the Angel" (1973) with Fred MacMurray. He also appeared in the TV movie "Bristle Face" (1963-64). He worked in series television while getting his start in acting, including a part on "The Andy Griffith Show" (CBS, 1960-68). Lindsey also contributed his voice to characters in the animated feature "The Aristocats" (1970) with Ruth Buzzi. And the Roger Miller animated picture "Robin Hood" (1973). In the seventies and the eighties, Lindsey devoted his time to various credits, such as "Treasure of Matecumbe" (1976), "The Rescuers" with Bob Newhart (1977) and "Take This Job and Shove It" with Robert Hays (1981). He also was featured in the TV movie "Return to Mayberry" (NBC, 1985-86). Lindsey last appeared on "TV Road Trip" (Travel Channel, 2001-02). Lindsey passed away in May 2012 at the age of 77.
