John Denver

John Denver worked in a variety of genres and built up a diverse and reputable career. His early entertainment career included "Butterflies Are Free" with Goldie Hawn (1972), "Evening at Pops" (PBS, 1969-2002), "Oh, God!" (1977), "Sunshine" (CBS, 1973-74), "The Bob Hope Show (09/26/73)" (NBC, 1973-74) and "The Gospel Road" (1973). Denver was nominated for an Outstanding Special - Comedy-Variety or Music Primetime Emmy Award for "John Denver: Rocky Mountain Christmas" in 1976 as well as for an Outstanding Continuing or Single Performance By a Primetime Emmy Award for "Doris Day Today" in 1975. In the eighties, Denver devoted his time to various credits, such as "The 10th Anniversary Johnny Cash Christmas Special" (CBS, 1985-86), "Water" (1986) starring Michael Caine, "Fire and Ice" with John Eaves (1987) and "Roger & Me" (1989). Denver last provided music for "The Odd Angry Shot." Denver married Annie Martell in 1967 and had three children. The couple divorced in 1982. Denver married actress Cassandra Delaney in 1988 and divorced in 1993. John Denver passed away in October 1997 at the age of 54 after the plane he was piloting crashed.
