John L. Adams

American film and TV actor John L. Adams is a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he attended university before heading to L.A. to pursue a standup career. He performed at venues like the Laugh Factory and the Comedy Store before landing a role on the youth-oriented half-hour show "Just Deal" for 10 episodes in 2000. Next up was a recurring role on the female-centered sitcom "Girlfriends," where he guest-starred for five episodes. Other one-shot appearances came on the crime drama "NYPD Blue," the single-camera comedy "Arrested Development," and a 2006 episode of "NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service." His biggest role came when he was cast in the fantasy show "Stephen King's Dead Zone" in 2002. As physiotherapist Bruce Lewis, Adams appeared in the majority of the show's episodes during its six-year run and was an integral part of the show. He has also appeared on stage as the Scarecrow in "The Wiz," among other productions.
