Krista Vernoff

Writer and producer Krista Vernoff is best-known for her work as head writer on the hit medical show "Grey's Anatomy." Vernoff also served as a supervising producer and executive producer for the series, and it was in the latter capacity that Vernoff was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series in 2006 for the show's first season. Originally an actress and playwright, Vernoff got her start in the world of television in 1999, writing an episode for the long-standing procedural drama "Law & Order." In 2000, Vernoff joined the writing team for the fantasy series "Charmed," about four sisters (Alyssa Milano, Rose McGowan, Shannen Doherty, and Holly Marie Combs) who use witchcraft to solve various dilemmas. Vernoff also served as a co-producer and producer for the series. In 2006, Vernoff wrote the television movie "Introducing Lennie Rose," about an aspiring singer trying to find fame on the mean streets of New York City. Ever the queen-of-all-trades, Vernoff in 2009 released the weight-loss tome "The Game Is On! Diet."
