Lucy and Ethel are sick of their husbands dressing like slobs when they go out together in the evenings. After one particular outing, the girls get fed up and give their old clothes to a second-hand store.

After Ricky cuts off her allowance, Lucy goes on the radio show "Females Are Fabulous" to earn money; in order to win the money, she has to make Ricky believe she's been married before.

Burning with a desire to act, Lucy tries to crash Ricky's nightclub show.

When Ricky refuses to entertain at a studio party, Lucy accepts in his place.
