Lyfe Jennings

Lyfe Jennings

American musician, singer-songwriter and record producer Lyfe Jennings was born in Toledo, Ohio. He first started performing as a teenager alongside his brother and cousins, but their group was short-lived, and his career was halted by legal trouble. Jennings was twenty-six years old by the time he released his debut album, "Lyfe 268-192" (2004), to critical acclaim. His second album, "The Phoenix" (2006) was more commercially successful than the first, debuting at number two on the Billboard 200 and topping the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. He would go on to release five more albums, despite facing more trouble with the law, being branded by the New York Times as a "socially minded R&B singer."
