Patrick Jane accepts the help of a local astrologer, Ellis Mars (guest star John Billingsley – Star Trek: Enterprise), to solve the puzzling case of a triple homicide that involves two policemen and the fiancé of an EMT worker. Heather Tom (The Bold and the Beautiful) also guest stars as Marva, a witness in this episode written by show creator Bruno Heller and directed by series star Simon Baker.

Season 2 Premiere. A reporter arrives at Briarcliff Asylum to interview the head nun about a notorious serial killer named Bloody Face. As patients mysteriously vanish, Lana quickly finds herself in over her head.

Sara Carter begs Gibbs to investigate her mother's murder; she believes the wrong man was convicted; Abby is awarded a dinner reservation for two to a new five-star restaurant in an igloo and has to decide which co-worker deserves to go with her.

As a Nor'easter storm approaches, a strangely transformed Sister Mary Eunice sows discontent, and worse. As Dr. Arden's strange experiments on Kit continue, another escape attempt is hatched, and Dr. Thresdon makes a terrible discovery.

Slaughterhouse. Following an ambush that has left a state trooper dead, the search for the killer draws Raylan into the middle of the bloody final battle for control of crime in Harlan County.

The Monsignor resolves to help Sister Mary Eunice battle the Devil within, while the now-powerless Jude is punished severely by the possessed nun.
