Mira Furlan

Born and raised in Croatia, actress Mira Furlan is most familiar to American audiences for her roles on the television shows "Babylon 5" and "Lost." Furlan began appearing in screen roles in her homeland (then known as Yugoslavia) during the late 1970s, and continued act in numerous Eastern European productions throughout the '80s and early '90s. In '93, after immigrating to the United States, Furlan signed on as a regular on the sci-fi series "Babylon 5" and played the part of the alien Delenn for five seasons. (Furlan's husband, Goran Gajic, also directed an episode of the show.) Furlan's most high-profile role arrived in 2004, when she joined the cast of the enigmatic series "Lost" as Danielle Rousseau, appearing as the mentally unhinged survivor on and off throughout subsequent seasons. Outside of "Babylon 5" and "Lost," Furlan has also made guest appearances on various other TV shows, including "NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service" and "Law & Order: Los Angeles." Mira Furlan died on January 20, 2021 in Los Angeles, CA at the age of 65.
