A series of murders is linked to a serial killer executed a year earlier.

In the second hour, they investigate another murder when a father and son find a frozen body in a pond while ice-fishing. When the man is identified as a rival hockey player Booth fought with during a recent game, he becomes the main suspect. FBI Agent Payton Perotta (guest star Marisa Coughlan) is brought in to assist Brennan with the investigation. As Booth gets back onto the ice, he receives some advice from one of his hockey idols, former Los Angeles Kings star Luc Robitaille.

Patrick Jane accepts the help of a local astrologer, Ellis Mars (guest star John Billingsley – Star Trek: Enterprise), to solve the puzzling case of a triple homicide that involves two policemen and the fiancé of an EMT worker. Heather Tom (The Bold and the Beautiful) also guest stars as Marva, a witness in this episode written by show creator Bruno Heller and directed by series star Simon Baker.

Gibbs and his team face a challenge when the wife and 9-year-old daughter of a Navy captain are kidnapped from their home, and the captain is held hostage in his own office.

Reckoning. Following Helen's murder, Raylan looks to bring the killer to justice as he struggles to keep his dad, Arlo, from taking revenge. And when Mags Bennett realizes that she's been double crossed, she targets Boyd in an all out war for control of Harlan County.
