Oliver Milburn

Dashing English actor Oliver Milburn has yet to cross the ocean and star in an American production, but he is a well-known face overseas from his roles in the popular BBC dramas "Coronation Street" and "Mistresses," among many others. He is perhaps best known to U.S. audiences as the blink-and-you'll-miss-him husband Paul in Neil Marshall's adrenaline-fueled terror film "The Descent." After growing up in Dorset, Milburn graduated from Eton College and without a day of formal acting training, leaped into the world of television with a role on the 1992 soap opera "Families." He made his film debut in the poorly received independent film "Loaded," about a group of teenage friends facing drug-induced visions and revelations. A handful of TV movie roles came next for Milburn, one of which (1999's "David Copperfield") paired him with influential director Simon Curtis and a jaw-dropping cast including Daniel Radcliffe, Bob Hoskins, and Ian McKellen. In 2004, he switched gears from straightforward drama to irreverent comedy with the recurring role of Liam on the wacky, surreal hospital sitcom "Green Wing." Parts in many series such as "Holby Blue," "Agatha Christie's Poirot" and "Mistresses" followed, before Milburn secured the role of Mr. Linton in Andrea Arnold's high-profile 2011 re-imagining of Emily Brontë's classic novel "Wuthering Heights."
