In the village of Tasiujaq, the days are getting longer and spring is just around the corner. Willie Cain teaches his seven-year-old son Robbie how to camp, hunt and fish.

Now it’s Robbie’s turn to show what he’s learned by passing his knowledge on to his younger cousin. In this episode, Robbie also learns how to set fox traps and tries his hand at ice fishing for Arctic char and rainbow trout.

Elder Louisa Kulula, who grew up in Quaqtaq, takes us on a tour of this seemingly barren northern landscape. Viewers will be surprised when she unveils the concealed resources that were essential to the survival of her ancestors.

Willie Jararuse and his son Sandy explore the waters of the Hudson Straight near Quaqtaq. They attempt to collect ice from an iceberg and spot some muskoxen while they’re out!
