In the face of natural disasters, supernatural creatures, and a horrifying plague, the Copeland Family fights to survive the end of the world.

The Copelands are relieved to get a message from Brianna – she survived the Yakima meteor impact and is headed towards Seattle. The family motorhome hits the road, but their journey westward becomes fraught with danger when they encounter both demonic Skin Walkers and violent, plague-infected Feverheads. On top of that, a series of massive solar flares destroys the power grid and plunges the world into darkness… Amidst the silence, a mysterious new voice emerges over the radio – that of Bob “Moondog” Black. But why would anyone be broadcasting archival radio shows from decades ago in the middle of all this destruction? And how does he stay on the air after the solar flares have wiped out global communications?

The Copelands arrive in Seattle to find that three million people have vanished without a trace – including Josh’s father. Desperate, Josh searches the streets for clues, finding only a mysterious news camera recording showing a screaming crowd of people running from an unseen force... But the Copelands have a more urgent priority – the plague is spreading fast, and they must use this opportunity to gather tetracycline, the only known treatment. Unfortunately, they are not the only ones looking for supplies. And in a world without law and authority, the Copelands will have no choice but to defend their supply by force.Meanwhile, an exhausted Brianna finds food and shelter with an off-the-grid religious commune. But when a serpent creature attacks from the sky, Brianna is blamed, and the community’s demeanor towards her goes from mistrustful to openly hostile.

Continuing their quest to recover Brianna, the Copelands find themselves at a gated up airfield that’s been converted to a “Plague Zone” – an area where victims of plague are held until they’re cured, or die. Now, in order to rescue their daughter, Josh and Karen must traverse a dangerous isolation pen swarming with hundreds of violent Feverheads. Meanwhile, an imprisoned Brianna discovers that the leader of the religious commune is possessed by a Skin Walker. Now her only hope of survival lies in convincing a boy in the community to betray the only father he’s ever known.

The family has reunited with Brianna, but they’re being chased by a group of armed Feverheads who have escaped the Plague Zone. Trapped and overrun, the Copelands brace for the end – until they’re saved by Karen’s old friend, Lamar Boone, a special ops soldier-turned-survivalist. Boone invites the family to his stronghold, nicknamed “The Alamo” for some hot food and running water. But on their way there, the Copelands are attacked by a dangerous new threat – another mythical creature from cultural legends now roaming the earth. And in the midst of this chaos, Karen receives a mysterious omen: someone in her family will not survive.

When the family splits up, Josh leads half the party to a nearby university to find a seemingly prophetic professor, while Karen leads the others to a nearby summer camp on what should be a safe resupply mission.
