Against All Odds

In the 1960's, the Air Force began drawing up specifications for a new close support plane: the AX. While the Air Force wasn't in favor of this aircraft, or its mission, support came from a team at the Pentagon.

In 1990, when Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait, the U.S. Air Force had an aircraft that was perfect for driving back the Iraqi ground forces: the A-10. But it was almost left behind!
