A straightforward case of academic fraud involving two women, university professor Leah and student Rose, soon reveals itself to be much darker.

As relations become hostile, Leah resorts to extreme measures to expose Rose; tensions flare between Leah and Adam, with the possibility that Adam is taking Rose's side; Rose pursues personal retaliation against Leah.

As the police try to piece together the sequence of the events, both women come under the spotlight, but they may or may not have the right one; as the investigation spirals, Leah realizes she must come face-to-face with Rose one last time.
