Todd Carmichael goes to the island nation of Haiti in search of a rare, rumored colonial strain of coffee plant called "Typica" noted as being some of the most savored coffee on the planet.

Dangerous Bolivia
Todd Carmichael begins his Bolivian journey short of breath at 12,000 feet in the world's highest capital, La Paz. The coffee plants prove to be hard to find due to the more profitable crop, Coca - the plant to make cocaine.

Todd Carmichael travels to Madagascar because it is rumored to be a source of high-quality "Robusta," a utility-grade strain of coffee largely avoided by coffee aficionados. Todd thinks the exception could be hidden in Madagascar.

Todd crosses ancient bamboo bridges, eats slimy grub, and sleeps in the wild, all in the hope of bringing a rare exotic "Liberica" coffee bean back home to his roasters.

Todd seeks a new discovery in the birthplace of coffee - Ethiopia. He avoids interference from the government body and brave roads with high fatality rates, evade wild predators and avoid confrontations with gun-toting sentries.
