Flying at over 40,000 feet, beyond the reach of Allied fighters, the Ju86P aircraft provided Hitler with a steady stream of intelligence. But in the summer of 1942, a plan emerged to send its bigger brother, the Ju86R, on a mission to antagonize Britain.

September 1942: Luftwaffe bomber pilot Horst Goetz was on a mission to strike Britain from over 40,000 feet. One Royal Air Force officer—flying in a modified Spitfire—was Britain’s last hope to stop the German onslaught.
