When Martin and Ashley, two detectorists from the idyllic fields of rural Somerset, stumble on a hoard of buried Saxon treasure worth millions, their first instinct is to do the right thing and declare it, but with the knowledge that selling it privately could solve all their financial worries, doubt and temptation creeps in.

Realizing it is now too late to declare the treasure legally, Martin and Ashley struggle to handle the pressure as DS Doyle’s investigation results in Rocky’s increasingly volatile behavior, while their actions have dire consequences for Laura.

With his family under serious threat and the police closing in, Martin desperately searches for a way out, and the arrival of the suave collector Denys presents a solution to all his problems, but things take a very dark turn when he is double crossed.

Martin and Anne come up with a bold plan to rescue their dire situation, but the actions of an emotional Laura, an increasingly erratic Ashley, and the tenacious DS Doyle, threaten to expose the truth and destroy their family forever.
