Finding Nowhere

A failed bear hunt leaves Ryan determined to leave no stone unturned for an end of summer goat hunt in high mountain terrain where anything can go wrong.

Ryan, Joel and Ryan's wife run a moose hunt along a river, spending the night in a rotten cabin before an unexpected elk harvest; meeting Bernard McCay, they explore B.C.'s LEH lottery and the trials of a first-time hunter.

To redeem last year's failed bear hunt, Ryan leads Joel into the challenging spring of Williams Lake and Horsefly; lost in tough terrain, Joel faces his fear of bears and the sacred, complex balance of taking an animal for food.

Ryan tests Joel's progress with a spring foraging trip in Prince George with expert Jenifer Côtè; fighting mosquitoes and grizzly sign, they trek to Cousin Eli's remote cabin and attempt to forage dinner — without picking the wrong plants.

Ryan forces Joel to face a freezing British Columbia winter through ice fishing and trapping; with a stop at Barkerville Brewing and a visit to a remote trapline, they uncover the rules of trapping cabins and efforts to revive the region's caribou.

Ryan takes Joel to Vancouver Island to experience ocean foraging and explore the fragile balance between commercial fishing and conservation.
