'The Fateful Meeting' reveals the events in Fred and Rose West's lives, which led to them each committing murder for the first time and then coming together to kill another ten girls and young women. Much of the drama documentary leads up to Fred and Rose's chance meeting at a bus stop in Cheltenham when she was 15-years-old and he was 27.

Fred and Rose murdered their first three victims Anna McFall, Charmaine West and then Rena Costello because they got in the way. But when they moved into 25 Cromwell Street, the couple began to kill for sexual thrills. The first young woman, Caroline Owens, managed to get away.
