Joe and Trevor Purvis restore a large townhouse. Trevor has to leave his wife and baby behind, and the husband of Joe's lover seeks revenge.

Joe works harder than Trevor, Trevor's son demands his attention, the brothers hire a relative, and Joe receives threatening calls.

The roof is finished; Joe, Trevor and Simon live with the homeowners.

Joe and Trevor return home to visit their ill grandfather; the brothers aren't getting along; their father is concerned.

Joe's natural optimism returns when he is given the chance for more work, though he soon realizes that he may not be able to take the new job.

The ceiling collapses; Trevor confronts Joe; Trevor helps Laura and meets a new friend.
