Renovating a room in a house can be expensive, potentially costing tens of thousands of dollars. Obviously that's not in every homeowner's budget. But with the help of top designers, some deserving individuals receive remarkable room transformations -- valued at $25,000 -- as part of "Makeover Wish." Think a room renovation is enough of a gift for the homeowners? It's not. During the 72-hour period that the crew -- which often includes the owner's friends among the group of volunteers -- is working on the home, the residents are sent off on a surprise weekend getaway and, upon returning home, are treated to a new room that is intended to enhance everyday life through beauty, function and design.
