Professor Balthazar

Professor Balthazar was an inventor. One day he thought up a pair of quite extraordinary shoes. These shoes could y, dance, jump, chase around like an automobile; very extraordinary shoes indeed. Being the good fellow that he was, Professor Balthazar made a present of them to all his friends. For many, these extraordinary shoes solved various problems and made life easier. However, Professor Balthazar made a mistake. One day after an explosion in his laboratory our Professor found himself in the hospital. He was not lonesome in the hospital for all his friends who he helped by making a present of his extraordinary shoes came to present him with a gift, each in his particular way.

Balthazar travels to the Alps where he meets a man who spends his whole life yodelling although he is disturbed by avalanches. Soon after that he finds a lighthouse keeper in the South Seas who is unable to eat his continuously melting ice-cream. Finally, they both change places, so that the first one yodels to his heart's content on the small island and the other is able to eat ice-cream in the Alps together with his friend Otto, the whale.

Balthazar's friend, the famous conductor Horatio, loses favour because of the misfortune which suddenly strikes - at every concert he loses his trousers. In order to help his friend, Balthazar invents the strongest braces in the world, which are so elastic that they enable the most fantastic jumps: thus Horatio is rehabilitated and at the same a new entertainment is created which takes by storm the whole world.

The tram conductor Fabian saves the life of a small sparrow which then, teaches him how to fly. Fabian's tram becomes the first fying tram in the world and this causes a lot of trouble which, however, end happily.

Elefant Koko, the famous musician, plays music on his trunk. He also loves to eat enormous quantities of ice-cream, But, one day he catch a terrible cold and cannot play any more. Koko is desperate and disappears from the town. His friends, together with professor Balthazar, search the whole world to nd him. Finally they discover him on the North Pole where his trunk served as a pleasant, warm shower for Koko's new friends.

Martin is a man who nobody notices despite his efforts to attract attention. Balthazar presents him with a book on how to climb to success. But Martin disappears and only then does everybody notice that he is missing. Finally, Balthazar finds him at the top of a high mountain where together with his friend the eagle, he happily makes paper airplanes from the book he has received.
