A team of detectives led by Inspector Jen Rooney begin an investigation into a refugee center when a young Nigerian girl is found dead at a bus stop.

As suspicion mounts on those in the center, there are signs Esme may have been secretly working before she died; the police search for Flora, another girl who disappeared from the same center.

Abeni comes to fear those she works for at the brothel, but is too scared to tell the police; Flora escapes from the care home she has been placed in.

The police put Abeni under surveillance as her bosses at the brothel begin to treat her differently at work; Abeni fears for her life and Flora is subjected to horrors.

The police discover new leads in the wake of their raid on the brothel, and Abeni begins to confess what she knows; the gang rebuilds the business unseen.

Abeni must decide if helping find Flora, Hope and Nina will be too great a risk for her family; the truth of Esme's final moments is revealed.
