Following the success of Sesame Street, Children's Television Workshop (now Sesame Workshop) debuted The Electric Company on PBS in October 1971. Through wordplay, music, and animation, the program taught kids the joys of literacy. Today, the series remains a classic example of how creativity can make television an educational medium.
