Doug feels threatened when Carrie's new job at a law firm gives her a taste of big-city sophistication.

Doug can't work up the courage to tell Richie (Larry Romano) that his wife (Michele Maika) is cheating on him.

Arthur is immediately smitten with Doug's favorite aunt (Brenda Vaccaro) and asks permission to court her.

Doug makes an effort to be more friendly with Arthur and soon discovers the benefits and risks of allowing his father-in-law to tag along with him in public.
