Veronica Mars: Play It Again, Dick

Ryan tries to get his pitch for a Dick Casablancas spin-off the ground by getting the star of Veronica Mars, Kristen Bell, on board.

Ryan turns to Jason Dohring who is 100% onboard with the project, meanwhile Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas and actor Chris Lowell (Piz), not so much.

Ryan tries to get actor Enrico Colantoni on board for his spin-off.

Ryan hits up Francis Capra to get involved in “Private Dick” who agrees provided it’s a meatier role than the usual crooks he plays.

It’s the first day of shooting and things are off to a rocky start when Jason Dohring threatens to walk.

As the spinoff unrolls with Dick on the case of a murder (and his stolen sunglasses), he is reunited with Madison Sinclair (Amanda Noret) and the ghost of his brother, Beaver (Kyle Gallner). But this is TV 101, and no character is safe from the proverbial death knell.
