Fernand (Jean-Paul Belmondo) is on the cusp of marriage when some of his pals petrify him with terrifying tales of what life as a husband will be like. As a result, Fernand decides to go AWOL, handing his friend Antoine (Jean-Claude Brialy) the two cruise tickets intended for his honeymoon. However, after a series of mishaps, Fernand ends up in Greece alone, where he makes yet another romantic error -- one that finds him haphazardly trying to escape one more misbegotten marriage.
