In 1961, Dag Hammarskjöld has one year remaining as UN Secretary-General before he hopes to retire to his home in Österlen and enjoy long-awaited freedom. But with the Cold War intensifying and Congo at its center, he takes on the task of brokering peace and unity in the country—a mission many deem impossible, and others call suicidal.
