Laurence Henry "Larry" Holden (May 15, 1961 – February 13, 2011) was an American actor, best known for his roles in three of Christopher Nolan's films, including Batman Begins as Carl Finch, Memento as Jimmy and Insomnia as Farrell.Born in Framingham, Massachusetts to Command Sergeant Major Laurence E. Holden (1935-1982) and his wife, Friederike (née Hofer), Larry Holden was of Austrian, Irish, and Scottish descent. His father was born and raised in the Irvington neighborhood of Southwest Baltimore. Holden and his family moved often due to his father's various Army reassignments. Holden's father was assigned for several years to the Panama Canal Zone. They relocated for the last time to his father's native Maryland. Holden spent his teenage years in Glen Burnie, Maryland. He graduated from Fort Meade High School in 1979. Holden began his career in 1991, when he won a TV role in The Arc. He appeared in many character roles on TV including episodes of Silk Stalkings, Charmed, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and ER. Holden appeared in three of director Christopher Nolan's films: Memento, Insomnia, and Batman Begins.He semi-retired as an actor to become an independent filmmaker, writing and directing eight films. His first film, My Father's House, won the 2002 Independent Achievement Award at the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival.
