Rudy Baylor and his girlfriend Sarah Plankmore are thrilled to be starting at top law firm Tinley Britt. But when Rudy's first day spirals out of control, forcing him to take a job at the less reputable J. Lyman Stone, they end up on opposite sides of an important wrongful death case involving Leo Drummond's most important client.

Rudy risks his life and bends the law to strengthen Dot's case, while Melvin is hunted by Tinley Britt's investigators. Sarah is forced to choose between her career and her relationship. Rudy witnesses a troubling interaction between his neighbor Kelly and her hot-headed husband.

Bruiser discovers that her father, J. Lyman Stone's murky history with Leo may complicate Dot's case. Rudy and Deck uncover unsettling information about the missing nurse, Jackie. Meanwhile, tensions swirl when Rudy and Sarah take the bar. Rudy helps out his neighbor Kelly, putting himself at risk in the process.
