Jodie Markell

Jodie Markell was an actress with a strong presence in film throughout her Hollywood career. Known for making audiences laugh, Markell began her acting career in comedies like "Vampire's Kiss" (1989), "Me and Him" (1989) and the Kevin Bacon film "Queens Logic" (1991). She worked in television in her early acting career as well, including parts on "Brooklyn Bridge" (CBS, 1991-93) and "Bakersfield P.D." (Fox, 1993-94). She continued to work steadily in film throughout the nineties and the early 2000s, appearing in the action film "Point of No Return" (1993) with Bridget Fonda, "My Girl 2" (1994) with Dan Aykroyd and the dramatic comedy "Jimmy Hollywood" (1994) with Joe Pesci. She also appeared in "Drop Back Ten" (2000). In her more recent career, she tackled roles in "Trapped" (2002) with Charlize Theron, "Easter" (2003) and the Alan Cumming dramatic adaptation "Sweet Land" (2006). She also appeared in the Sam Rockwell thriller "Joshua" (2007). Most recently, Markell directed "The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond" (2009) with Bryce Dallas Howard.
