Charlotte Stewart

Actress Charlotte Stewart is one of the few people who has worked with David Lynch on both his early 1976 art film "Eraserhead" and the TV series that launched him into the mainstream, "Twin Peaks." In the former, she was Mary X and in the latter, which ran from 1990 to 1991, she was Betty Briggs. She actually also had a scene in the follow-on 1992 TV movie "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me," but it was eventually deleted. Stewart worked steadily beginning in the 1960's, touching everything from "My Three Sons" to "Hawaii Five-O." But it was "Little House on the Prairie" in 1974 that catapulted her into the public consciousness for good, via the role of beloved schoolteacher Miss Beadle from 1974 to 1978. A decade later, it was time for a recurring role on the daytime soap opera "The Young and the Restless" in 1985. In the end though, it may well be her work on "Twin Peaks" that endures most. In the summer of 2010, she attended a 20th year anniversary celebrations at the Twin Peaks Festival, held in parts of Washington state where exteriors for the show were originally shot.
