Thomas Langmann

At only nine years old, French actor and producer Thomas Langmann started his film career. He appeared alongside two giants of the business, Catherine Deneuve and Gerard Depardieu, in 1980's "Je Vous Aime," a film directed and co-written by his famous father, Claude Berri, about a woman who invites her former lovers to her home for dinner on New Year's Eve. His next film didn't come until eight years later, but this time he was in a starring role, playing a needy war orphan in the Pierre Boutron-directed drama "Les Années sandwiches." In 1999, Langmann began his production career, initially as an associate producer on the first live-action film of the Asterix comic book franchise, "Astérix er Obélix contre César." With his father among the producers, Langmann had an ideal opportunity to learn the ropes under his father's watchful eye. He has since gone on to successfully produce many critically acclaimed pictures with his own production company, called La Petite Reine, a reference to his father's company, Renn Productions. In 2008 alone, he produced three well-received films: a real-life gangster story told in two parts, "Mesrine: Part 1-Killer Instinct." and "Mesrine: Part 2-Public Enemy #1," as well as another Asterix film, entitled "Asterix at the Olympic Games."
