A young man named Holden wakes up from a 12-year coma and discovers new supernatural abilities that propel him into the middle of a dangerous conspiracy.

Holden tries to forget about the strange events he has experienced and lead a normal life; Holden attends a college party with Luke, but his memories of Willa cause trouble; Tom and Diane attempt to bond with their now-adult son.

Holden agrees to a scary undertaking to learn more about his new powers and what exactly happened to him while he was in a coma; Holden and Willa grow closer; Yellow Jacket makes a bold move in his quest to get to Holden.

Holden is determined to learn more about the mysterious man who is after him and teams up with a former adversary turned unlikely ally. This pursuit leads Holden to some shocking evidence and a vital clue. The Matthews are unnerved when Jeff, the person they feel is responsible for Holden's accident, continues to show up in their lives. Luke continues to struggle with his place in the family, now that Holden has returned. Meanwhile, Willa makes a dangerous move while trying to help another comatose patient; and Holden has an awkward encounter when he decides to ask a girl out on a date for the first time.

Holden agrees to go on a double date with Luke, Riley and Jamie, then memories come flooding back and cause him to question his grasp on reality; a stranger named Charlie has something in common with Holden.

Holden is surprised by how much he has in common with fellow coma survivor Charlie; Jeff forms an uneasy alliance with Tom; Willa is shocked when she uncovers the origins of Arthur's research; Luke encounters trouble at school.
