Amakusa Ryo nearly falls down some stairs on a rainy day, when he is saved by an ordinary high school girl named Arima Ichika; Ryo tries to find a way to thank Ichika for saving his life.

When Ichika apologizes to Kai for hitting him with a volleyball, they bond over a book related to her favorite anime, and Kai lends it to her; when Ryo meets up with Ichika at a convenience store so he can walk her home, Kai also happens to be there.

Ryo's coworker, Arie, has been working as long as he has and is a secret anime nerd; they get closer after discussing anime; Arie starts to realize that she has feelings for Ryo and invites him out to dinner with some other coworkers.

Kai goes to the bookstore to buy the new volume of "Forward World"; when he gets there, he sees Ryo and immediately tries to avoid her.

Kai and Ichika meet at the station so that she can give him her answer; Arie invites Ryo to dinner, so she can tell him how she feels.

Arie tells Ryo that, even if she knows that he has a crush on someone else, she wants to do everything she can to get him to like her; Ryo wonders whether Ichika, should he date her, would end up being hurt by their age gap.
