Taro Yamada gives up on baseball and enrolls in a high school with no baseball team; he encounters Haruka Kiyomine and Kei Kaname, the strongest battery, at his new school.

Kei still refuses to play baseball, but Haruka manages to lure him out to do batting practice with a certain offer; Aoi Todo and Shunpei Chihaya, who also gave up baseball like Taro did, can't hide their shock.

Kei invites Todo and Chihaya to his house.

Kei decides to set his sights on beating Teitoku in a revenge match after learning more about baseball; Todo is reminded why he quit baseball in the first place.
