The Hunter is the Hare's Death
S4, E20: A rabbit has been murdered – not an animal, but a young student named Heike, who was doing advertising for a garden center as a mascot in a rabbit costume. During their investigation, Ulrich and Korbinian quickly realize that the fatal attack could have been aimed not only at the girl, but also at her boyfriend Max, as the couple took turns helping out at the garden center. This consideration makes construction worker Bernd Kröger, the murdered girl's ex-boyfriend, a target for the cops: apparently, he had never accepted Heike's separation and her romance with Max. Did he want to kill his rival, accidentally catching Heike in the process? But Heike's boss and owner of the garden center, Mona Hase, also soon becomes suspicious to Ulrich and Korbinian, because she too had a brief fling with Max before he and Heike became a couple. A murder out of jealousy? Was the attack meant for Heike after all? While both cops are working on solving the case, it turns out during the interrogations that Mona Hase is much more interested in Ulrich Satori as a man than as an inspector. Dr. Kern also is astonished that the "interrogations" now also take place after hours. In the end, what helps the cops solve the case is two Sicilians and the realization that there are relationships that can't be ended so easily.
