S1, E1: Franz Hofstetter is dead – and with him, probably, the age of the beer patriarchs. Two women, Gisela and Vicky, are now bickering over his succession as head of the brewery. Gisela is Franz's second wife and former secretary, Vicky the daughter from his first marriage. She has never gotten over the shocking moment Gisela appeared at Franz's side only a few weeks after her mother's passing. It is a real sensation when Vicky shows up at her father's funeral with her American husband, former basketball star Dan Dawson, after years of absence. The tabloids eagerly pounce on the sensational couple and the battle for the management of the brewery between Gisela, the old-established socialite, and Vicky, Munich's new favorite celebrity. Vicky has audacious plans to make the brewery more modern, ecological and sustainable, for example, with a vegan Weisswurst. Gisela and her colleague, managing director Dr. Maxlhuber, can only laugh at this.
