Von Praunheim turns to the Berlin gay scene and sheds light on the increasing hysteria, trivialization of HIV and the flare-up of homophobia in post-reunification Germany. In contrast to the New York activists in SCHWEIGEN = TOD, part 2 of the trilogy, von Praunheim also lets protagonists from the scene have their say, whose attitudes he describes as criminal and worth fighting against.
