Brett Gray

Actor Brett Gray first appeared on Hollywood's radar when he was cast as teen Jamal Turner in inner-city coming-of-age "On My Block" (Netflix, 2018-). Born in Philadelphia, PA, Gray attended his hometown's High School for the Creative and Performing Arts and made his screen debut starring opposite Deon Frank in the short tale about friendship, "Tortoise" (2015). A year later he made the leap to feature films with a supporting role in "Ardmore Junction" (2016), the Kickstarter-funded dramedy about four strangers who meet at a mysterious man's memorial. Gray then played Henry in "Metrocard" (2016), a short film about a chance encounter in New York, and Greg in "The Tale of Four" (2016), Gabourey Sidibe's directorial debut loosely based on Nina Simone classic "Four Women." Gray appeared on the small screen for the first time when he appeared in the ensemble of the pilot episode of musical drama "Rise" (NBC, 2018-). He enjoyed much more screentime when he was cast as Jamal Turner, one of four leading characters attempting to navigate high school life in South Central Los Angeles, in the streetwise comedy drama "On My Block" (Netflix, 2018-).
