Fiona McDonald

Fiona McDonald's first musical excursion proper came via the Headless Chickens. After this, she was one of several female singers fronting Paul Casserly's Strawpeople, which provided a platform not only for her vocal talents but her lyrics, too. Much of their (NZ) Top Five album Vicarious is down to McDonald, who scooped up the Best Female Award three times before embarking on her solo voyage. In 1999, she returned to the Flying Nun label for A Different Hunger, which went Top Ten. Her influence has been acquired by Tadpole's Renee Brennan, for one. ~ Kelvin Hayes, Rovi
