Frederick Leister

Frederick Leister was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Leister began his career with roles in the Annabella crime picture "Dinner at the Ritz" (1937), the Paul Robeson adventure "King Solomon's Mines" (1937) and "O.H.M.S." (1937). Leister next focused his career on film, appearing in "Goodbye, Mr. Chips" (1939), the drama "So Well Remembered" (1947) with John Mills and the Rex Harrison dramatic adaptation "Escape" (1948). He also appeared in the Stewart Granger adaptation "Footsteps in the Fog" (1955), "The End of the Affair" (1955) and the historical film "Dangerous Exile" (1957) with Louis Jourdan. Later in his career, Leister acted in the dramatic adaptation "The Naked Edge" (1961) with Gary Cooper. Leister passed away in November 1977 at the age of 92.
