Kris revels in the new adventure of helping Matt with the Dirty Dozen (the rescued horses from 4004), while trying to deal with the awkwardness of Junior’s inviting her to his wedding. Junior, meanwhile, has his hands full with planning a turbine presentation with Calvin and planning his wedding with an increasingly frustrated Laura. Laura is relieved when Junior informs her that Kris won’t be attending; telling him that she was never comfortable with the idea, and points out to Junior that Kris must’ve felt the same way. When Junior goes to Raintree to pickup his best man, Kris is there to help train Flame. She tells Junior that she overreacted and that she’d love to come to the wedding. Junior is flummoxed. Kris realizes that Flame is herd bound, so they put him with other horses and Flame responds. Later, Kris runs into Laura who tells her that she’s sorry Kris can’t make it to the wedding. Kris tells her that she told Junior she was coming. The girls air the awkwardness of the situation, and Kris hears from Laura that Junior’s been acting odd since the horse rescue. Kris confronts Junior about this, and when Laura stumbles upon them matters are made worse. Flame’s training continues, but it’s clear he’s going to need more attention. Kris tells Matt that the only way to make things work is for her to return to Raintree. Matt is hesitant but realizes that he and Kris make a great team. Kris decides to help out Calvin, so Junior can work on the wedding with Laura. They makeup and Laura takes Junior to the presentation which goes off without a hitch. It goes so well in fact that when Junior tells Kris he’s going to hand the reins over to Calvin she talks him out of it. She’s seen the passion he has for it and believes it would be a big mistake for Junior to abandon it; Junior agrees but is conflicted. Laura asks Kris to replace a bridesmaid that’s dropped out. Kris accepts the offer. Dani, who’s been having her own boy problems with Noah, tells Kris that Laura probably wants to keep an eye on her, and isn’t so sure that Laura’s suspicions about Kris aren’t unfounded. Kris confronts Junior and wonders if they could ever get back what they had. It’s clear Junior still has feelings for her, but tells her that once he’s married they can’t be friends anymore. Matt tells Kris that Jean isn’t sold on the idea of Kris returning to Raintree, but in a final triumphant moment they run Flame and he finally breaks away from the pack convincing Jean to give Kris another chance.

Kris and Junior struggle to find a time when they can get married as they are both busy. She suggests they elope this weekend and Junior agrees. A weakened Jean is finally home from the hospital and Kris feels guilty about her plans with Junior. At Davis Farms Dani crosses with Davis. He knows what she did with Tigress Eye’s hormone suppressant and he’s proud of her which makes Dani uncomfortable. Kris invites Junior to come along when she takes the dudes out but on the ride he gets a call from Calvin. An investor read about the wind turbine technology and wants to hear the pitch right away. Matt visits Dani and she shows him some horses she bought but if she keeps them at Davis Farms she’ll be under Davis’s thumb. Matt suggests she keep them at Raintree but Dani can’t pay the boarding fee so they make a deal on future winnings. Kris learns the pitch went badly but Davis is able to secure another pitch this weekend. Kris tells Davis that Junior can’t do that because he’s marrying her this weekend. Kris takes Davis out to lunch to make peace with him and things go strangely well. Matt asks Jean if they can cancel the dude ranchers and rely on boarders like Dani. Jean agrees. Jean and Matt ask Kris if she’ll race in the Monte Mar stakes but she has to tell them she can’t because she’s marrying Junior. Matt he storms out angry. Dani warns Kris to stand up for what she wants or she’ll never survive in the Davis family. Davis visits Jean and lets it slip that Dani doesn’t have any money to pay Raintree but when Jean confronts Matt about it he doesn’t back down and Jean lets him cancel the dude ranchers anyway. Davis pulls Junior away to a last minute deal, forcing him to cancel dinner plans with Kris. He comes back with good news. The deal went through and he’s made $3 million. He gives Kris a huge engagement ring. Kris hires a replacement jockey, RILEY ADAMS, so she can get married. Matt is pissed but Dani convinces him to put Riley in Kris’s place at the Monte Mar. Matt and Dani grow closer over their love of racing and fall into each other’s arms. Kris tries to fit in the Davis family lifestyle and fails at every turn. Manipulated by Davis, Junior cancels the wedding plans in order to secure the wind turbine deal. Junior has to leave right away. Kris confronts Davis warning him to back off. She is ready to fight for what she wants. At Raintree, Matt, Jean and Pablo take down the dude ranch tents while Kris looks on having been cut off from both Raintree and Junior.
