Matthew Raymond \"Matt\" Dillon is an American actor and film director.\nDillon made his feature film debut in Over the Edge and established himself as a teen idol by starring in films such as My Bodyguard, Tex, Rumble Fish and The Outsiders. In the late 1980s, Dillon achieved further success, starring in such films as Drugstore Cowboy, Singles, The Saint of Fort Washington, To Die For, Beautiful Girls, In & Out, There's Something About Mary, and Wild Things. In a 1991 article, famed movie critic Roger Ebert referred to him as the best actor within his age group, along with Sean Penn.\nIn the 2000s, he made his directing debut with City of Ghosts and went on to star in the films Crash, Factotum, You, Me and Dupree, Nothing but the Truth and Sunlight Jr.. During his career, he earned many awards and nominations including Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for his performance in Crash and a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album nomination for narrating Jack Kerouac's On the Road. In 2015, he starred in FOX mini-series Wayward Pines.
