Anna Pihl's first day at Bellahoj police station is anything but boring as she learns what it takes to work in the most populated and busy police district.

Anna's partner is still in the hospital and she is assigned a rule bound partner, Kim, known as KGB.

On a night patrol drive, Anna and her partner Kim find a dead woman in an apartment. The woman is extremely obese and the criminal investigation department as well as the forensic investigation department closes the case – convinced that the woman died from heart failure. But Anna is obsessed with the thought that the woman was murdered, and she asks her father, a retired detective superintendent, for help. He is busy with his new girlfriend, and in her attempt to solve the case Anna goes beyond her authority and poses as a police investigator. In her private investigation, she comes to suspect the woman’s neighbor for the homicide, and Anna gets in deep trouble with her bosses at Bellahøj Police Station, where Mikala is attempting to resume her work without psychological after-effects of the attack. And Anna still can’t sort her feelings for Martin.

On their way home from the movies, Anna and Daniel are attacked by four teenagers. The police believe it to be a happy slapping, where youths attack strangers and record the prank.

Anna Pihl has offered to be a plain-clothes decoy in the attempt to catch the murderer, and her colleagues back her up in this dangerous operation; Anna's father believes that the police are underestimating the intelligence of the murderer.
