Part 1 of THE TOWER introduces viewers to respected senior surgeon Richard Hoffmann, his wife Anne, their teenage son Christian, and their community of privileged intellectuals in suburban Dresden.

Part 2 of THE TOWER follows the Hoffmanns as the fabric of their society begins to unravel; Christian is conscripted into the People’s Army despite his moral objections, Anne is forced to venture out on her own, and Richard buckles under the pressure being applied by the Secret Police.
