In 1974, young Stasi recruit Lars is sent to West Berlin to seduce middle-aged single mother Lauren, who works in a British-American intelligence office.

Lars finds a way to break the ice with Lauren at the café she frequents; Klara develops a troubling side effect from her training regimen.

A mishap at the bakery sends a drunken Tobias crying to Axel; Lauren develops cold feet, so Lars must adopt a more aggressive approach.
