Of Good Report

Introverted and seemingly gentle high school teacher Parker Sithole has a quiet passion for literature and is presented to a new rural school as a man who’s reputation comes „of good report“. In a local bar Parker meets a mesmerizing young woman named Nolitha and is captivated by her attentions – but the next day she walks into his classroom as his student and he realizes that the blossoming love which has brought joy into his world is forbidden. Parker develops an unhealthy obsession with his pupil and his dark, traumatic, personal history surfaces leading to dire consequences. Of Good Report is an exploration of the psyche of a post-apartheid South African man who finds himself in a position of power. It is a haunting commentary on the state and psychology of the new South Africa.
