Daniel Hugh Kelly

Actor Daniel Hugh Kelly took his late-1970s curly-haired good looks from the stage to the small screen, first in the soap "Ryan's Hope" and then as a lead in the 1980s crime series "Hardcastle and McCormick." Originally from New Jersey, Kelly participated in repertory theater in the Washington, D.C., area before returning to New York, where he made the move into television, securing a regular role on the long-running daytime drama "Ryan's Hope," playing in nearly 500 episodes over three years. He'd soon make his feature debut as the father in "Cujo," the murderous rabid dog tale. His most prominent primetime role followed as a former car thief turned investigator in the dramatic series "Hardcastle and McCormick," with Brian Keith sharing the lead. After the show ran its three-season course, Kelly moved on to parts in films and TV movies, as well as to recurring roles in various shows, including that of an astronaut in the mini-series about the space program, "From the Earth to the Moon." He has filled guest spots on many popular primetime series, including "The West Wing" and "Law & Order," and made a return to daytime in "As the World Turns." Over the course of his career, Harrison maintained his love for the stage, playing in such productions as "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" opposite Kathleen Turner.
