Although the Thanksgiving meal is great, Chandler is still moody over his parent's divorce during the holiday when he was a boy and Ross is depressed about his second divorce. The group reminisces about their worst Thanksgivings in order to cheer them up, and Monica's worst memory is revealed.

Monica and Chandler prepare for their wedding. During the rehearsal dinner with their families gather the night before for the rehearsal, Chandler's tie get's tighter and tighter until he can't take it anymore and he disappears. Meanwhile, Joey is starring in a movie with a prestigious actor with a spitting problem.

Monica and Chandler's wedding reception is almost upstaged by the news that Rachel is pregnant. Elsewhere at the party, Ross tries to impress a pretty single woman; Chandler has trouble on the dance floor; and Joey hopes to impress an important Broadway producer who is dating Chandler's mother.

Rachel is still waiting impatiently for her labor to begin. After posing as his daytime television drama character, Joey pronounces a handsome patient, Cliff (recurring guest star Eddie McClintock), suitable for Phoebe to pursue romantically. Unfortunately, Cliff sees Joey on television and finds out about the ruse. Monica and Chandler make love after trying several locations in the hospital. Finally, Rachel gives birth to a beautiful girl--and Ross kisses Rachel. Both hiding their feelings, they wonder how to proceed. Recurring guest star Christina Pickles appears as Monica's mother, Judy, and recurring guest star Maggie Wheeler appears as Chandler's ex-girlfriend, Janice.

Chandler's romance novelist mum comes to New York to visit him and he's not sure how he feels about it, especially after Joey catches Mrs. Bing and Ross kissing. Meanwhile, Monica and Phoebe compete for the "attention" of Coma Guy, who gets hit by an ambulance after Monica woo-woo's at him on the street.
